We are committed to continuously increasing the percentage of timber and timber related products that leave our depots are sourced from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Both schemes independently verify that timber is harvested legally, that forests are managed to protect wildlife, water and local communities, and that stock is tracked at every stage between forest and yard — a system known as chain of custody.

We don't treat this as a marketing line. It's a sourcing standard we apply across the range, at our Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Leicester depots, and one you're welcome to ask us about on any order.

PEFC — independent audit

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification recognises national forestry standards, independently audited to confirm legal and sustainable harvesting.

Both schemes rule out illegally logged timber entirely, closing the door on material with no verifiable origin.

FSC® and PEFC are the two international schemes that verify sustainable, legal forestry. We treat either as the minimum standard for timber leaving our depots.
