Bring timeless charm and lasting durability to your outdoor spaces with Breedon Golden Amber Gravel — the UK's only self-binding gravel to hold The Royal Warrant (since 2003). Trusted by landscape architects and garden designers, it graces some of Britain's most prestigious locations, including stately homes, historic estates, national parks, National Trust and English Heritage gardens.
Made from 100% natural hard limestone, crushed and graded from 12mm down to dust, Breedon Golden Amber contains a high proportion of naturally occurring marl. This marl content is what gives the gravel its unique self-binding properties — once laid and compacted correctly, it knits together into a firm, stable surface that self-scarifies with use, leaving a fine dressing of loose chippings on top for a natural, informal finish.
Unlike many alternative self-binding gravels, Breedon Golden Amber is non-frost susceptible, meaning it won't lift, become saturated, or turn slippery during cold winter months — providing a hard, reliable, year-round surface. Once set (around one week in summer), the surface remains firm and stable while still being fully permeable, so there's no need for additional drainage.
